Cost for a soda at the PX... $0.65
Cost of a haircut at the FOB barbershop... $3.50
300 minute calling card from AT&T... $27.00
Having a Catholic Chaplain on the FOB... priceless

I had one on my deployment but our replacements didn't and they were nearly full of dispair. I would be too if I was only going to get Mass a few times a year.

Makes you appreciate the priest's presence and also how many Catholics in colonial America lived and many more the world over live today.

No wonder you're glad. To be without the sacraments for a long time... I've heard of the other difficulties of soldiers' lives in Iraq, but hadn't thought of that one!
